14 September 1946 - Wedding Day

Mum and Dad were married on 14th September 1946, in Croydon. According to their marriage certificate, they were both living at 4, Hilldown Court, Streatham High Road, SW16 3NU, together with Dad's mum, Daisy, and her mum, Emily Hitch. It seems that their new bungalow at West Wickham was being built at the time, so they were living with Daisy and Emily temporarily. (See the page about the bungalow)

The bungalow was still being built in May 1947, and Richard was born on 9th June, so it's likey he lived at Hilldown court for a while, too. It must have been a bit crowded.

Anyway, on to the reception, after the wedding (was that at Croydon Registry Office, I wonder?) I don't know where this was held, but it was an opportunity to see all the family in one place at once. I'll try to identify most of them eventually!
