In the middle of a heatwave in July 2021, we moved from our stone cottage in Staffordshire to a bungalow on the outskirts of Camborne, Cornwall.
Property being in great demand in the beautiful holiday destination of the “Cornish Riviera”, we chose a less sought-after location and a house in need of renovation. Not wanting to spend all our remaining days doing the house up slowly ourselves, we budgeted for the fast-track route of employing various trades to do most of the renovation, including re-plastering all the ceilings, moving the boiler, painting everywhere, fitting new flooring throughout – oh, and adding a conservatory at the back.
